About Samsung

Samsung is a South Korean multinational business conglomerate comprised of numerous affiliated businesses, with most of them united under the Samsung brand. Originally founded as a trading company in 1938 by Lee Byunng-chul, Samsung dealt in grocery items and food. Throughout the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, Samsung diversified into insurance, securities, and retail, and in the 1960s, entered the electronics industry with the Samsung Electronics Devices, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung Semiconductor and Telecommunications divisions.
